Consonantly Czech

One of the facts about Czech language, which foreign like to point out is the fact, that it connects many consonants together. Here comes little example of how great sense with usage of only consonants can Czech language provide. On the first sight it looks all the same, but check out the translation/ transition.

Text: Anežka Prosecká

Original:

Chrt zdrhl z Brd. Vtrhl skrz strž v tvrz srn, v čvrť Krč. Blb! Prskl, zvrhl smrk, strhl drn, mrskl drn v trs chrp. Zhltl čtvrthrst zrn skrz krk, pln zrn vsrkl hlt z vln. Chrt brkl, mrkl, zmlkl.

English transition:

A greyhound tucked from Brds (Czech mountains). He invaded through ravine in stronghold of does, into district Krtch (part of Prague). Stupid! He spat, degenerated a spruce, demolished a turf, and threw that turf into bunch of cornflowers. He devoted quarter handful of grains through his neck, fulfilled with grains he sucked a gulp of water from waves. The greyhound burped, winked, shut up.

Other consonantly rich words:

zmrzlina = ice-cream, trdelník = special sweet dough rolls, brzy = early, vrznout = to creak (also in flirting meaning)

Pronunciation of special characters:

Ř (only Czech language has it) à While saying „r“ (red, rude) hardly you are slowly shutting your mouth and you are trying to move that vibrating tongue with still sounding r, like you would like to breath it out through the closed jaw.

Ch – in English it is read as t∫ (check) or as a k (Czech). In Czech language there is special sound for that. It comes from the throat, like you would have something stacked there and you wanted to get it out by your breath. But not in demonic way, just as you are breathing deeply.

Č – that equals to English pronunciation of ch in check, chamber, change,…

Š – equals to English sh in shut, shoot, should, shy,…

Ž – it is similar to J in journalist or jaw, but without the hard starting D. Equals to French G in melange, rouge, …

Ň – Well this is going deeply to your imagination. Imagine the softest and the sweetest way how to pronounce „N“. It can be equal to Spanish N with the wave above. Not commonly used letter.

Ě – The pronunciation of this letter hardly depends on the letters before it. However there are only few letters and then chosen words, where you are allowed to combine these letters with Ě. It has the role of softening these letters. After playing that role it is still staying in the word, pronounced like normal E in English words bell, well, shell, hell,…

NĚ -> ŇE; MĚ -> MŇE; PĚ -> PJE; BĚ-> BJE; VĚ-> VJE

Á, É, Í, Ó, Ú – long pronunciation; [a:] [e:] [i:] [o:] [u:]

Ů – also long [u:], but used only in the middle or on the end of the word. Being on the end it signs plural form.

Á, É – mostly on the end of adjectives

Í – end of plural forms in nouns, present time in verbs

Ú – only on the beginning of words

Ó – not commonly used

Here is the example of the text with translation:

Objímám svět a všechno kolem, objímám sebe a tebe a tebe taky. Objímám všechny a všechno, celý objem objímání se vejde do jedné prosté náruče, bez oběti obětí. Žádné dojetí jenom objímání, věčné objímání. Věčnost ve všem co jde a proudí, v času a nerovnosti peněz, v materiálnu a duchovnu co se rodí jen a jen v mojí hlavě,

co se rodí a zaniká

jen a jen v těle osoby

a osobnosti člověka.

Slučitelně a neslučitelně, když nevíš, tak alternativně. Alternativní vědomí a uvědomění.

Rozkošné?…

…a přitom rozkoš ano.

 Motion of pollination

I have horribble mess in my heart. So huge, that I am throwing it on the brain, so I have something to fall asleep with. In my heart is no spiderweb, niether old dust or candeles finished by fire and conked out wax. In my heart there is fresh disorder, pile of freshly printed out papers, crying trees, foiled rows from a typewriter and ticking clocks. There are alarms ringing, one through another they are screaming their warnings and so I am throwing it to my brain, so he could be the one who won’t decide and the heart have to beat…To be?!…

To be pond without bond with flow and fish blow, constantly wishfull for rays and slushy confession. The volume of the water is arising as well as density, habitans are densing with kilometers, signs with crossed-out names and invitations for a cup of coffee.

Alternative notion of the volume motion. I am motioning to the whole world and rest of it, I am motioning to me and you and you too.  I am motioning everyone and everything, whole notion of the motion fits in one poor hug, without sacrifise of the motion. No emotion, just motion, infinite motion. The infinity is in everything what goes and flows, in the time and in the unequality of money, in material and spiritual sites, which are born just and only in my head,

what is born and perished,

just and only in the body of human being

in a personality of a human.

Compatibly and uncompatibly, when you don’t know, than alternatively. Alternative consciousnes and awareness.

Plea sure?…

…while  pleasure…
