If you have ever heard the sentence, “Punk is dead”- relating it to the loud, hard-edged sounds of the 70s, then you´d had better not believe it! At least at Bastard Bar the magic still happens.

On Friday 18th, the stage was given to the Rumblin Retards, who brought a booming noisy night to the Punkrock Fans of Tromsø. The Band, who´s origin is in Northern Norway, released their newest album and therefore gave it away on a CD to every visitor who entered the grungy (the stylistic cellar where the concert took place). From the first to the last song they kept on rocking and made their fans go crazy. As it is common on a punkrock concert the crowd started to do pogo– jumping around and bumping into each other as if there was nothing to fear, not even to spill their beers all over the place. However, it felt a little strange, stressing or even scary for an outsider of this scene. There was no reason not to admit that the heavy energy unloaded by the guitars, bass, drums and the strong vocals just kind of pulled you into these intense reactions. And therefore this was a perfect punk concert to everyone familiar with this genre and also for those inquiring, fearless newcomers.
